Despite the LS 600h L's quiet cabin, its power is anything but restrained. The world's first hybrid V8 engine gives the LS 600h L the power of a modern 12-cylinder engine, producing a combined system output of 438 horsepower. All this while consuming substantially less fuel, with nearly 70 percent fewer emissions. The Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) provides seamless acceleration while efficiently combining engine and electric power based on driving conditions. Regenerative braking turns energy that's normally lost as heat during braking into electrical power which recharges the battery. The LS 600h L is also the first luxury hybrid to feature full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) to help improve traction and control.
